Founded by brothers Ron, Rick, and Mike, the company was inspired by their father, Ed Keilhauer, who was an upholsterer and saddle-maker with European training and a pioneer in the design of contract seating in North America. Keilhauer began as a customs manufacturer for the local market to fill niches that weren’t readily available and, over the years, has developed over 100 product collections. Now sold around the world, Keilhauer is a key supplier of seating to the commercial industry and has managed to keep its small family business values and integrity in tact after 30 years. They strive to be a sustainable company with a light footprint as dozens of independent designers bring fresh and innovative ideas to their business, producing many award winning designs each year.
